# Connect Claude Code to LotsStore

Canonical page: https://lotsstore.app/agents/claude-code
Steps checked: 2026-10-05

Manage your products, stock and orders in LotsStore from Claude Code. Add LotsStore to Claude Code as a remote MCP server and sign in once.

MCP server URL: https://api.lotsstore.app/mcp
REST API docs: https://api.lotsstore.app/docs
Setup instructions for your agent: https://lotsstore.app/skill.md

## What you can do once connected

- Add and update products, variants, prices, categories and collections. New products start as drafts.
- Check and set stock for each variant.
- See new orders, accept or reject them, and mark them processing, shipped or delivered.
- Create and manage discount codes.
- Read your sales: revenue, orders, average order value and where visitors drop off.
- Look up customers, and moderate and reply to product reviews.
- Publish your storefront once you approve its address.

The LotsStore dashboard does the whole job on its own too: products, stock, orders, customers, discounts, payments and your storefront. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

## You need

- Claude Code with a Claude plan
- A LotsStore account. You can create one during sign-in.

## Connect Claude Code to LotsStore

1. **Add the server.** Run this in your terminal. It adds LotsStore to the current project; nothing else to install.

```
claude mcp add --transport http lots-store https://api.lotsstore.app/mcp
```

Every project:

```
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user lots-store https://api.lotsstore.app/mcp
```

2. **Sign in from Claude Code.** Start Claude Code and run /mcp. Select lots-store, choose Authenticate, then choose Allow on the LotsStore page that opens in your browser.

```
/mcp
```

3. **Check the connection.** Back in Claude Code, ask a read-only question to confirm the tools work.

```
List my stores in LotsStore
```

## What to ask next

- “Which orders are waiting for me to accept?”
- “We are out of the blue mug. Set its stock to 0 and tell me who ordered it this week.”
- “Add a summer tee in sizes S, M and L as a draft so I can check it before it goes live.”
- “How did my store do last week? Show revenue, orders and where visitors drop off.”
- “Add every product in products.csv in this repo to my store as a draft.”

## Questions and troubleshooting

### How do I connect Claude Code to LotsStore?

Follow the Claude Code setup above to add https://api.lotsstore.app/mcp. Complete sign-in using the authentication method shown. Then ask “List my stores in LotsStore”.

### Can I add LotsStore to every Claude Code project?

Yes. Use the second command in step 1 (the --scope user variant) to add LotsStore for every project on your computer instead of the current one.

### Do I need an API key to use LotsStore with Claude Code?

No. Claude Code signs in to LotsStore in your browser. API keys are for the REST API, for scripts and your own apps.

### What does LotsStore cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lotsstore.app/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

### Can my agent take payments or move money?

No. Shoppers pay straight into your own Stripe or Razorpay account, by UPI to your UPI ID, or by ordering on WhatsApp, and LotsStore never holds the money. Your agent never asks for card details or payment keys: you connect Stripe or Razorpay yourself.

### Can my agent delete my products or my store?

Your agent can delete a product or a category when you ask it to, and that cannot be undone, so it should confirm with you first. It cannot delete a store. The owner can archive one, which takes the storefront offline and stops billing for it, and restore it within 30 days.

### Where do I see what my agent changed?

Everything your agent does shows up in your LotsStore dashboard. You approve the connection when you sign in, and you can disconnect it at any time from connected apps.

### lots-store shows as needing authentication

Run /mcp, select lots-store and choose Authenticate, or run claude mcp login lots-store in your terminal.

### The browser says Claude Code registered itself and is not verified

That is normal for Claude Code: it registers with each MCP server and receives the sign-in on your own computer. Allow it when the return address is localhost.
