## What you can do once connected

- Add and update products, variants, prices, categories and collections. New products start as drafts.
- Check and set stock for each variant.
- See new orders, accept or reject them, and mark them processing, shipped or delivered.
- Create and manage discount codes.
- Read your sales: revenue, orders, average order value and where visitors drop off.
- Look up customers, and moderate and reply to product reviews.
- Publish your storefront once you approve its address.

The LotsStore dashboard does the whole job on its own too: products, stock, orders, customers, discounts, payments and your storefront. Your agent for speed, the dashboard for control.

## You need

- A ChatGPT account with dots access
- A cloud or connected computer available to your dot
- A LotsStore API key
- A LotsStore account. You can create one during sign-in.

## Connect OpenAI dots to LotsStore

1. **Create your LotsStore API key.** Sign in to the LotsTech API page and create an API key. Your dot will use it to access LotsStore.

```
https://www.lotstech.com/api
```

2. **Give your dot the API instructions.** Ask your dot to use the REST API from its computer. Share the prompt below, then provide the key privately in the task environment, rather than in the conversation.

```
Use https://api.lotsstore.app/docs to connect LotsStore from your computer. Read the API reference, authenticate with my privately configured LOTSSTORE_API_KEY and list my stores in LotsStore. Never include the key in messages or logs.
```

3. **Give your dot the brief.** Tell your dot what to work on in LotsStore. For recurring work, put the brief in the dot’s instructions. Start with read-only requests, then let it make changes.

## What to ask next

- “Which orders are waiting for me to accept?”
- “We are out of the blue mug. Set its stock to 0 and tell me who ordered it this week.”
- “Add a summer tee in sizes S, M and L as a draft so I can check it before it goes live.”
- “How did my store do last week? Show revenue, orders and where visitors drop off.”

## Questions and troubleshooting

### How do I connect OpenAI dots to LotsStore?

Use the LotsStore REST API from OpenAI dots’s computer. Create an API key at https://www.lotstech.com/api, configure it privately for the task and share https://api.lotsstore.app/docs with your agent. Ask it for something read-only first.

### Does LotsStore include its own always-on agent?

Your dot handles the recurring work. This guide connects its computer to the LotsStore REST API. LotsStore holds your store, products, stock and orders and returns results to your dot.

### Do I need an API key to use LotsStore with OpenAI dots?

Yes. Create one at https://www.lotstech.com/api and keep it out of chats, logs and committed files. Where OpenAI dots offers sign-in, use that instead.

### What does LotsStore cost?

Current plans and prices are on https://lotsstore.app/pricing. Your agent’s own plan or usage fees are separate.

### Can my agent take payments or move money?

No. Shoppers pay straight into your own Stripe or Razorpay account, by UPI to your UPI ID, or by ordering on WhatsApp, and LotsStore never holds the money. Your agent never asks for card details or payment keys: you connect Stripe or Razorpay yourself.

### Can my agent delete my products or my store?

Your agent can delete a product or a category when you ask it to, and that cannot be undone, so it should confirm with you first. It cannot delete a store. The owner can archive one, which takes the storefront offline and stops billing for it, and restore it within 30 days.

### Where do I see what my agent changed?

Everything your agent does shows up in your LotsStore dashboard. You approve the connection when you sign in, and you can disconnect it at any time from connected apps.

### My dot cannot access the API key

The dot’s cloud computer has its own environment. A key saved on your laptop is not automatically available there. Open the assigned computer or use a connected local computer, and configure the key privately for the task.
