If BigCommerce's plans are tied to how much you sell, the closest alternatives that are not are LotsStore, WooCommerce, Shopify, Squarespace, Ecwid, Big Cartel and Square Online. None of their pricing pages states a limit on how much you can sell. BigCommerce moves you up a plan at $30K and $100K of trailing 12-month sales (its own "GMV" measure). LotsStore is $12 a month, with no sales cap and 0% of your sales whichever payment option you use. Every vendor fact below was checked on 31 October 2026 on the company's own pages.

One fairness point first. BigCommerce also takes nothing extra on orders paid through its embedded payment providers, which include Stripe and PayPal. So "0% of your sales" is not what separates it from LotsStore when you use Stripe. The sales-based plan ladder is.

## BigCommerce alternatives at a glance

Checked on 31 October 2026. US dollars before tax. Monthly price first, then the monthly price when billed yearly.

| | Starts at | Cap on how much you sell | Cut of your sales |
|---|---|---|---|
| **LotsStore** | Starter $12 ($10 billed yearly), 1 store | None. Plans differ only by number of stores | 0% with every payment option |
| **BigCommerce** (for reference) | Core $39 ($29); Growth $105 ($79); Scale $399 ($299); Performance from $1,499 | Core up to $30K, Growth up to $100K trailing 12-month GMV, then an automatic move up; Scale $33,333 a month, then 0.9% | $0 on orders paid through its embedded providers; 2.0% (Core), 1.0% (Growth), 0.6% (Scale) on orders through other providers |
| **Shopify** | Basic $39 ($29); Grow $105 ($79); Advanced $399 ($299); Plus from $2,300 | None stated on its pricing page | 0% with Shopify Payments; 2% / 1% / 0.6% / 0.2% with another provider |
| **WooCommerce** | Free plugin, hosting separate | None stated; its page says costs are "tied to infrastructure, not sales volume" | 0% revenue share |
| **Squarespace** | Basic $25 ($19); Core $39 ($29) | None stated on its pricing page | 2% on Basic, none from Core |
| **Ecwid** | Starter $5; Venture $35 ($29); Business $65 ($49); Unlimited $149 ($119) | None stated; products are capped at 10, 100 or 2,500 on the first three plans | No transaction fees on any plan |
| **Big Cartel** | Gold free; Platinum $15; Diamond $30 | None stated on its pricing page | "We never take a cut" |
| **Square Online** | Square Free $0 per location; Plus $49; Premium $149 | None stated; above $250,000 a year Square invites you to ask for custom pricing | Card processing 3.3% + 30¢ online on Free, 2.9% + 30¢ on Plus and Premium |

"None stated" means the vendor's pricing page lists no limit on sales. It does not promise there is none in the fine print of its terms.

## How BigCommerce's sales limits work

BigCommerce's pricing page and its 2026 plan update page (both checked on 31 October 2026) say:

- **Core** is for "up to $30K" and **Growth** for "up to $100K" of trailing 12-month GMV. Pass the threshold and BigCommerce notifies you and moves you to the next plan automatically. On annual plans this can happen mid-term, with the price difference charged at the upgrade.
- **Scale** covers $33,333 a month of GMV, and 0.9% applies to GMV above that. Performance starts at $1,499 a month.
- **GMV is your gross order value minus 10%**, and BigCommerce says it will likely differ from your own records. Eligible sales include taxes and shipping, plus social commerce and Amazon or eBay orders. By my arithmetic, $30,000 of GMV is reached at about $33,300 of orders.
- **The Open Payment Provider fee** is separate: 2.0% on Core, 1.0% on Growth and 0.6% on Scale for orders paid through a provider that is not on BigCommerce's embedded list. Orders through embedded providers, such as Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Klarna and BigCommerce Payments, carry no such fee.
- **Downgrades follow the same limit.** If your trailing GMV is above a lower plan's threshold, that plan is not offered.

## What that costs: three fictional shops

Cobalt & Cedar Candles (cobaltcedar.example.com) is made up. Assume every order is paid through Stripe, so BigCommerce's provider fee is $0, plans are billed yearly, and card processing fees are the same on both platforms and left out.

| Orders a year | BigCommerce GMV (orders minus 10%) | BigCommerce plan by its limits | BigCommerce per month | LotsStore Starter per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $20,000 | $18,000 | Core | $29 | $10 |
| $60,000 | $54,000 | Growth | $79 | $10 |
| $150,000 | $135,000 | Scale | $299 | $10 |

If the $60,000 shop used a provider that is not on BigCommerce's list, Growth's 1.0% on $54,000 adds $540 a year, about $45 a month, for $124 a month in total. On LotsStore the monthly price stays $10 whichever provider you choose, and the provider's own fee is the same on both.

## 1. LotsStore: one price per store, no sales ladder

LotsStore is built for shops and small product brands taking their business online, including people who sell through Instagram or WhatsApp today. You pay per store, and every store gets everything.

**Plans.** Starter is $12 a month ($120 a year) for 1 store, Pro is $29 ($290) for 3 stores and Business is $79 ($790) for 10 stores (pricing page and pricing-facts, checked on 31 October 2026). Or skip plans and pay as you go at $15 per store a month from credits. New accounts get free credits when they sign up, no card, enough to run one store for about a month.

**No sales cap.** The only thing a plan sets is how many stores it covers. Products, orders, customers and teammates are unlimited on every plan; the pricing page notes these are subject to fair use. Selling more never moves you to another plan.

**0% of your sales.** LotsStore never holds your money. Shoppers pay straight into your own payment account: Stripe (in the countries Stripe supports), Razorpay (businesses registered in India), UPI to your UPI ID, or orders on WhatsApp. Your provider charges its own fee.

**Every feature on every plan.** A storefront on a free `yourstore.mylots.store` address or your own domain with HTTPS, variants and collections, stock per variant, discount codes, shopper accounts, reviews you moderate and analytics with a visit-to-order funnel.

**Tax and delivery.** Set your own tax rates by country, state or ZIP, choose prices with or without tax, and issue numbered tax invoices. With your own Stripe account you can switch on Stripe Tax. For delivery you set zones, prices (fixed, free, by weight or by order value), a handling fee and local pickup, and shoppers see a price and an estimated delivery date at checkout.

**Orders.** You accept each order, then pack, ship with any courier and refund from the dashboard, and you get a WhatsApp message for every new order.

You can also manage the store from ChatGPT or Claude: see the [setup page](https://lotsstore.app/mcp). For a direct comparison with the other big platform, read [LotsStore vs Shopify](https://lotsstore.app/blog/lotsstore-vs-shopify).

## 2. WooCommerce: free software, your own hosting

WooCommerce's pricing page calls it a free, open-source platform for WordPress with "no platform fees, no revenue share" and unlimited products and orders. Hosting is your cost (it estimates $25 to $350 a month for most stores) and extensions are $29 to $299 a year each. You also look after updates and security. It fits if you already run WordPress and want full control. More: [WooCommerce alternatives](https://lotsstore.app/blog/woocommerce-alternatives-for-agencies).

## 3. Shopify: apps, themes and shipping options

Shopify's plans are Basic $39 a month ($29 billed yearly), Grow $105 ($79), Advanced $399 ($299) and Plus from $2,300. Its pricing page lists no sales cap. It adds a third-party transaction fee of 2%, 1%, 0.6% or 0.2% if you do not use Shopify Payments. It fits if you want a large app ecosystem, in-person selling and live third-party shipping rates (listed from Advanced). More: [Shopify alternatives with no transaction fees](https://lotsstore.app/blog/shopify-alternatives-no-transaction-fees).

## 4. Squarespace: a website first

Squarespace's Basic is $25 a month ($19 yearly) with a 2% online store transaction fee; Core is $39 ($29) with no fees on online store transactions, and it says there is no limit to the number of products you can sell. It fits if website design leads and the store is part of it.

## 5. Ecwid: a store on a site you already have

Ecwid says it charges no setup or transaction fees on any plan. Its caps are on products, not sales: 10 on Starter ($5), 100 on Venture, 2,500 on Business and unlimited on the $149 plan. It fits if you want to add a shop to an existing website. More: [Ecwid alternatives](https://lotsstore.app/blog/ecwid-alternatives).

## 6. Big Cartel: simple, for makers

Big Cartel's pricing page says "we never take a cut". Gold is free with 5 product listings, Platinum is $15 a month after a 7-day free trial and Diamond is $30. It fits artists and makers who want the simplest setup. More: [Big Cartel alternatives](https://lotsstore.app/blog/big-cartel-alternatives).

## 7. Square Online: online and in person

Square includes the online store in every Square plan: Free is $0 a month per location, Plus $49 and Premium $149, with online card processing from 3.3% + 30¢ on Free. Its plans page invites businesses processing over $250,000 a year to ask for custom pricing. It fits if you also take card payments in person. ## What BigCommerce does well

BigCommerce's pricing page (checked on 31 October 2026) lists real-time shipping quotes from carriers including UPS, USPS, FedEx, Australia Post, Royal Mail and Canada Post, a multi-storefront option (an added storefront costs $30, $50 or $100 a month on Core, Growth and Scale), integrations with Amazon, eBay and Walmart and with point-of-sale systems such as Square and Clover, price lists for B2B customers, payments in over 100 currencies, a built-in blog, and a 15-day free trial with no card. If live carrier rates, B2B pricing, marketplaces or POS are central to your business, that is what it is built for.

LotsStore's delivery prices are ones you set yourself. It does not book couriers or print labels, and each store sells in its own country's currency.

## Which one should you choose?

- **LotsStore:** you sell products, want one price per store that does not change as you grow, and want 0% of your sales whichever way you get paid.
- **BigCommerce:** you need live carrier rates, B2B price lists, marketplaces or POS, and the plan ladder fits your sales.
- **WooCommerce:** you run WordPress and are happy to host it.
- **Shopify:** you want its apps and themes, or in-person selling.
- **Squarespace:** website design leads.
- **Ecwid:** you are adding a shop to an existing site.
- **Big Cartel:** you are a maker and want a free start.
- **Square Online:** you also sell in person.

Cheaper starts exist: Ecwid Starter ($5), Big Cartel Gold (free), Square Free ($0 plus processing) and WooCommerce (free software, paid hosting). ## If you build stores for clients

BigCommerce's multi-storefront add-on and its per-store GMV checks (each store on an account is evaluated independently, per its update page) mean each client store has its own ladder. On LotsStore, Pro covers 3 stores and Business 10, each with its own products, orders, team and payment account, and no sales cap on any of them. See [LotsStore for agencies](https://lotsstore.app/blog/lotscommerce-for-agencies) and [best multi-store platforms](https://lotsstore.app/blog/best-multi-store-ecommerce-platforms-for-agencies).

## How to move from BigCommerce to LotsStore

1. **Check where you stand.** BigCommerce says your current GMV is shown in your account dashboard.
2. **Create your store.** Sign up, name your store and choose your country, which sets the currency. It opens on a free `yourstore.mylots.store` address.
3. **Export your products.** BigCommerce's help center describes exporting products to a CSV from Products, Export (the legacy tool; it has a separate guide for its modern import and export). It recommends CSV.
4. **Import into LotsStore.** Products, then Import / export, download the template, copy your columns across and upload it. One file takes up to 500 products. Full steps: [move your products with a CSV import](https://lotsstore.app/blog/how-to-move-your-products-to-lotsstore-with-a-csv-import).
5. **Connect payments, set shipping and tax, test.** Connect your own payment account, add zones and rates and tax rates, place a test order and refund it.
6. **Point your domain** when you are ready, and keep the old store open until then.

The import brings in products. It does not move customers or orders. You can also hand the repetitive parts to your AI agent, for example:

> Add the products in this spreadsheet to my store as drafts, with sizes, prices and stock. Then list anything missing a price or a photo before I publish.

Every change shows up in your dashboard, where you review it. Plans are on the [pricing page](https://lotsstore.app/pricing).
