LotsStore and Ecwid both take 0% of your sales, and both let you take payments through your own provider. The difference is how you grow: LotsStore has unlimited products and every feature on every plan, with 3 or 10 stores in one account, while Ecwid sizes its plans by product count (10, 100, 2,500 or unlimited) and runs one store per account.

If you want to add a shop to a website you already have, or start at $5 a month with a few products, Ecwid is a strong pick. If you build stores for clients, run more than one brand, or want your full catalog and team on the entry plan, LotsStore fits better. Every Ecwid fact below comes from Ecwid's own pricing and help pages, checked on 21 October 2026.

## Where LotsStore is the better choice

### Several stores in one account

Ecwid runs one store per account. Its help center describes "Store A" registered to one email and "Store B" to another, and to switch between them you invite yourself as a staff member of the other store. Staff accounts are on Business (up to 2) and Unlimited, and a staff login can't open the other store's Billing & Plans section, so each store keeps its own billing.

LotsStore prices by store, and every store sits in one account. Starter covers 1 store for $12 a month, Pro 3 stores for $29 and Business 10 stores for $79. Each store stays separate, with its own products, orders, customers, team and payment account, and you switch between them from one dashboard.

For an agency, that changes the bill. Ten client stores on LotsStore Business cost $79 a month in total. On Ecwid, each client store is its own account with its own billing. I wrote up how agencies set this up in [LotsStore for agencies](https://lotsstore.app/blog/lotscommerce-for-agencies), and how other platforms handle client stores in [the best multi-store ecommerce platforms for agencies](https://lotsstore.app/blog/best-multi-store-ecommerce-platforms-for-agencies).

### No product caps

Ecwid's plans are sized by how many products you sell: up to 10 on Starter, 100 on Venture and 2,500 on Business. Unlimited products start at $149 a month ($119 billed yearly).

LotsStore has no product caps. Products, variants, orders, customers and teammates are unlimited on every plan, so the $12 store holds the same catalog as the $79 plan. A growing range never pushes you up a tier.

### Every feature on every plan

On Ecwid, the tools grow with the plan: selling on Instagram and Facebook, discount coupons and the App Market start at Venture; abandoned cart recovery, product reviews, staff accounts and marketplaces at Business; POS at Unlimited.

On LotsStore, plans differ only by how many stores they cover. Every store gets a fast storefront on your own domain, products with variants, categories and collections, CSV import and export, stock per variant with a low-stock view, discount codes, shipping zones and rates, shopper accounts with wishlists and reviews you approve, and analytics with a visit-to-order funnel.

### A team on every store, from the first plan

Ecwid adds staff accounts from Business, 2 of them, and unlimited staff on Unlimited. On LotsStore, any plan can invite as many teammates as you need, each with one of five roles: owner, admin, manager, staff or viewer. An agency can give a client a role on their own store only, and a brand can let a packer see orders without touching payments, which only owners and admins can change.

### Orders you accept, and WhatsApp orders built in

On LotsStore, you accept each order before it goes ahead, then fulfil, ship with any carrier (with a tracking number and link) and refund from the dashboard. Rejecting an order paid online queues its refund.

If your customers like to order by chat, turn on WhatsApp orders: the shopper places the order on your store, and LotsStore opens WhatsApp with a message to you already written, with the order number, items, total and a link to the order. You can also take UPI to your own UPI ID and check each payment in your bank app before you accept. I wrote a guide on [selling on Instagram and WhatsApp without losing orders in DMs](https://lotsstore.app/blog/how-to-sell-on-instagram-and-whatsapp-without-losing-orders).

### Money straight to you, nothing deleted if a payment lapses

Both platforms leave the money with you. On LotsStore, online payments go into your own Stripe account (in the countries Stripe supports) or Razorpay account (cards, UPI, netbanking and wallets, for businesses registered in India). LotsStore never holds the money; your provider charges its own fee and we add nothing. Setup guides: [connect Stripe](https://lotsstore.app/help/connect-stripe) and [connect Razorpay](https://lotsstore.app/help/connect-razorpay).

If a LotsStore store isn't funded, nothing is deleted. The storefront stays readable, new orders pause and the dashboard turns read-only until it's funded again. Orders already placed can still be fulfilled and refunded.

## What Ecwid offers

Ecwid, by Lightspeed, does several things very well.

- **A $5 start.** Starter is $5 a month for up to 10 products, month to month, which is cheaper than any LotsStore plan.
- **Add a store to any site.** Put an Ecwid store on a website you already run on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or another builder, or on several sites at once, all managed from one account.
- **Lots of payment options.** Over 70 payment providers, including PayPal and Stripe, with Apple Pay and Google Pay through Lightspeed Payments or Stripe.
- **Automated tax calculations** from Venture, based on your store and customer locations.
- **More places to sell.** Instagram and Facebook shops (in limited countries), marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay and Walmart through third-party apps from Business, and POS sync with Lightspeed Retail, Square and Clover.
- **Selling extras.** Subscriptions, wholesale pricing groups, a multilingual store, gift cards, pre-orders, carrier-calculated shipping rates and a store app for Android and iOS.

## Which one should you choose?

- **Choose LotsStore** if you build stores for clients, run more than one brand, sell more than 10 (or 100) products on a small budget, want a team on the store from the first plan, or want WhatsApp and UPI orders next to Stripe or Razorpay. You pay per store, every feature is included, and LotsStore takes 0% of your sales.
- **Choose Ecwid** if you want to add a shop to a website you already have, sell a handful of products for $5 a month, need PayPal, automated tax calculations or marketplace and POS sync.

LotsStore plans are on the [pricing page](https://lotsstore.app/pricing), and every option is explained in [LotsStore pricing explained](https://lotsstore.app/blog/lotscommerce-pricing-explained). New accounts get 15,000 free credits, valid 90 days, no card: about a month of one store. For how both compare with other 0% platforms, see [ecommerce platforms with no transaction fees](https://lotsstore.app/blog/ecommerce-platforms-with-no-transaction-fees) and [LotsStore vs Big Cartel](https://lotsstore.app/blog/lotscommerce-vs-big-cartel).

## How to move from Ecwid to LotsStore

1. **Create your store.** Sign up, create a store on a free yourstore.mylots.store address and add your logo, colours, pages and policies.
2. **Bring your products.** In Ecwid, go to Catalog, then Data Import & Export, and click Export Catalog (Venture and higher). Copy the columns into the LotsStore CSV template and import it, or add products one by one with their variants, prices, stock and images.
3. **Connect how you get paid.** Connect your own Stripe or Razorpay account, or turn on UPI and WhatsApp orders.
4. **Set shipping and test.** Add your shipping zones and rates, then place a test order and refund it.
5. **Point your domain.** Connect your own domain; HTTPS is set up for you. Keep the Ecwid store open until the new one is live.

You can also manage your store from ChatGPT or Claude. LotsStore works with the AI agent you already use: connect it on the [setup page](https://lotsstore.app/mcp), sign in, and ask in plain words. For example:

> Create a store called Harbor Hat Co. Add the 140 products in this spreadsheet as drafts, with their sizes, colours, prices and stock, sorted into the categories in column C. Then list anything that's missing a photo or a price before I publish.

Every change shows up in your dashboard, where you review it and publish.

## FAQ

### Is LotsStore an Ecwid alternative?

### Does Ecwid charge transaction fees?

No. Ecwid's pricing page says it doesn't charge any setup or transaction fees on any of its plans (checked on 21 October 2026). Your payment provider still charges its own processing fee. LotsStore also takes 0% of your sales.

### How much does Ecwid cost?

Starter is $5 a month for up to 10 products. Venture is $35 a month ($29 billed yearly) for 100 products, Business $65 ($49) for 2,500 products and Unlimited $149 ($119) for unlimited products (checked on 21 October 2026). LotsStore is $12 a month for 1 store, $29 for 3 and $79 for 10, with unlimited products.

LotsStore keeps every store in one account: Pro covers 3 stores and Business 10.

### Which is cheaper, Ecwid or LotsStore?

For one small store, Ecwid Starter at $5 a month is cheaper, with up to 10 products. LotsStore Starter is $12 a month, or $10 billed yearly, with unlimited products. For several stores, LotsStore Business covers 10 stores for $79 a month in total.

### Does LotsStore hold my money?

No. Shoppers' payments go straight into your own Stripe or Razorpay account, or to you directly for UPI and WhatsApp orders. LotsStore never holds the money and takes 0% of your sales.
