LotsStore vs Dukaan: 0% of Your Sales or a Service Fee on Orders

LotsStore takes 0% of your sales. Dukaan charges a service fee on orders placed through its platform: 4.99% on Free, 3.99% on Starter, 1.99% on Growth and 0.99% on Infinity, capped at ₹200 per order. I'm the founder of LotsStore, so I built it around the opposite deal: you pay per store, shoppers pay straight into your own payment account, and I never take a cut. Dukaan's fee figures are from its own pricing page, checked on 4 Nov 2026.

What a service fee costs on real sales

Dukaan describes it as a fee on "sales made through the platform", on top of payment gateway charges. The percentage is applied to each order, so it grows with every sale. Here is the arithmetic for a month of small orders (under the ₹200 cap), before the payment provider's own charges, which you pay on both:

Monthly salesDukaan planDukaan plan price + feeLotsStore planLotsStore total
$2,000 in 1 storeStarter$19 + $79.80 = $98.80Starter$12
$5,000 across 3 storesGrowth$49 + $99.50 = $148.50Pro$29
$20,000 across 10 storesInfinity$199 + $198 = $397Business$79

The cap matters for big single orders: a very large order pays at most ₹200 in Dukaan's fee. If your average order is small, which is how most shops sell, the percentage applies in full.

Why I took the fee out

I run LotsStore as a flat price per store because a percentage on every sale punishes the shops that sell the most. A store that does well should not get a bigger bill from the platform for the same software. You pay for the store, and every sale is yours. Every feature is on every plan, so there is no upgrade just to unlock the one thing you need.

Getting paid is direct too. You connect your own Stripe account, or your own Razorpay account if your business is registered in India, or take UPI and orders on WhatsApp. Shoppers pay you, and LotsStore never holds the money.

Where Dukaan is strong

Dukaan is built for small sellers. It has a Free plan with one store, Dukaan Delivery for shipping, access on web, Android and iOS, cash on delivery and manual payments (manual orders carry no service fee, in its own wording), and returns and replacements on Growth. If you want to start at ₹0 and accept a percentage fee in exchange, that is a real option.

Who should pick which

  • Pick LotsStore if you want your fee to stay flat as your sales grow, you want a store that looks established on your own domain, and you run one brand or several. Business covers 10 stores for $79 a month, which suits freelancers and agencies building stores for clients.
  • Pick Dukaan if you want a free starting plan and apps on web, Android and iOS, and a service fee on each order is fine for you.
